You Can’t Please Everyone

A man decided to move out of his village.

He gathered his most prized belongings and was allowed to take one donkey from the stable. He threw his belongings over the donkey’s back and rode the donkey out of town.

He passed a man in the desert who wasn't very pleased at what he saw. The man angrily said, “How could you overload that donkey? The least you could do is leave your belongings behind and continue your ride. It’ll be easier on the donkey.”

He thought for a minute and agreed.

So he dropped his belongings right there in the sand and continued riding.

He got to the next town and the donkey looked tired and weak. An elderly lady approached him with a pale of water and said, “A real man would carry his mule if it seemed to be in this condition.”

The man looked at his donkey and felt a pain in his heart.

He felt the lady was right, so he carried the donkey across both shoulders.

The man carried the donkey for miles before coming to a bridge. As he was crossing the bridge he tripped and the donkey went over the edge never to be seen again.

Moral of the story: You can try and please everyone all you want, but eventually you will lose your ass.
